Major Collision at High Street and Wallace Roads
Major Collision Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for witnesses or dashcam footage following a serious crash in Wantirna South. The crash has left one child in a critical condition and another with serious but non-life-threatening injuries.
The incident occurred on High Street Road, at the intersection of Wallace Road, at around 8.20pm on Thursday the 23rd of October.
Two Car collision under investigation
It’s understood a Toyota Corolla and a Nissan Skyline collided after the driver of the Corolla allegedly failed to give-way. The impact left multiple people injured, including two children.
Police are also investigating whether both children were unrestrained in the back seat during the collision.
An 11-year-old girl, one of the four occupants in the Corolla, was taken to the Royal Children’s Hospital with life threatening injuries. She remains in a critical condition. A four-year-old boy travelling in the same vehicle sustained serious but non-life-threatening injuries. He was also taken to hospital for treatment.
Other Drivers and Occupants
The driver of the Corolla, a 38 year old Knoxfield woman, suffered minor injuries and was transported to hospital. The remaining passenger, a 38-year-old Knoxfield man, was uninjured.
The two male occupants of the Nissan Skyline remained at the scene and assisted the Police with their enquiries. Both driver and passenger sustained minor injuries but did not require hospital treatment.
Police Continue Investigations
Police are urging anyone who was travelling on High Street Road or Wallace Road at the time on the incident, to check their dashcam footage.
