Reception Hours Temporarily Adjusted
Victoria Police has announced temporary changes to reception counter hours at Boronia and Rowville police stations. From now on, reception services will operate Monday to Friday, between 9:15am and 4:45pm. These changes affect front-counter services only and do not impact emergency response capabilities.
Focus Shifts to Community Policing
Importantly, the updated hours allow officers to be redeployed from desk duties into the community. As a result, police visibility and patrol coverage across Boronia and Rowville will be strengthened. Victoria Police say this approach improves crime prevention and frontline response capacity.
What Has Not Changed
Despite the reception changes, core policing services remain fully operational. Police patrols will continue 24 hours a day across Boronia and Rowville. Knox Police Station remains the nearest 24-hour station, located about five kilometres away. Therefore, residents can expect continued police presence across the local area.
Why These Hours Were Chosen
According to Victoria Police, the updated hours align with peak demand for administrative services. These services include tasks such as signing statutory declarations and general enquiries. Consequently, community access remains available when it is most commonly needed.
