Operation Kingsley Targets Repeat Retail Offenders
Boronia Police have launched Operation Kingsley to target repeat shop theft offenders across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs.
Police are working closely with local retail traders during the ongoing operation. Officers are focusing on alleged serial offenders and thieves targeting expensive retail items.
Furthermore, investigators say the operation aims to reduce retail crime impacting local businesses and staff.
Search Warrant Executed In Boronia
On Tuesday the 9th of June 2026, Boronia Police executed a search warrant at a Stradbroke Road property in Boronia.
During the warrant, officers arrested a 55-year-old man at the address. Police also seized several items believed to be stolen.
Additionally, detectives allege the offences involved thefts from multiple home improvement stores across Melbourne.
Man Charged Over Multiple Alleged Thefts
Police have initially charged the man with three separate theft offences.
The alleged incidents include theft at Bayswater on the 19th of March 2026, theft at Pakenham on the 13th of April 2026 and theft at Croydon on the 22nd of April 2026
Meanwhile, investigators continue working with retailers as Operation Kingsley remains active.
Court Appearance Scheduled
The Boronia man is scheduled to appear before the Ringwood Magistrates’ Court on the 7th of October 2026.
Police have not ruled out further charges as investigations continue.
