Taxi and Mitsubishi Lancer Collided on Burwood Highway
Emergency services were called around 11:45am this morning to Burwood Highway and Melbourne Road, outside Knox Retirement Village and Westfield Knox.
The incident occurred when a taxi, waiting to turn right into Westfield Knox, pulled out into moving traffic. The Mitsubishi Lancer had little chance to avoid the collision.
Fire Rescue Victoria Station 85 responded as did Ambulance Victoria. Knox SES also attended but were not required. Paramedics assessed both drivers at the scene, while police took statements and began investigating the circumstances.
Drivers Safe, Investigation Ongoing
Fortunately, both drivers were assessed on site with no immediate reports of serious injury. Police continue to investigate how the crash occurred. Community members are reminded to check their vehicles and remain cautious at busy intersections, especially near shopping centres and retirement villages.
