Celebrate Community at Knox Fest 2026
Knox Fest returns on Saturday the 28th of February 2026 at Wally Tew Reserve in Ferntree Gully. The free event runs from 10am until 10pm. Each year, the festival draws thousands from across Knox. Moreover, it brings together live music, local art and family activities. As a result, the reserve transforms into a vibrant community hub. Importantly, Knox Fest is an “all ages” event. It remains alcohol, smoke, vape, drug and pet free. However, assistance animals are welcome. A fireworks display will light up the sky at 9.45pm. Therefore, please secure pets indoors during the display.
Day Program Highlights
From 10am to 5pm, the reserve will host a full day program. Live music and performances will run across multiple stages. Meanwhile, local stallholders and market vendors will showcase handmade goods. In addition, cooking demonstrations will feature throughout the afternoon. Food trucks will offer diverse cuisine options. At the same time, amusements, rides and circus workshops will entertain children. Families can also enjoy the roller rink and glow show. Furthermore, the Active Hub will deliver outdoor play and “come and try” activities. The Global Kitchen will celebrate cultural flavours between 11am and 5pm. Consequently, visitors can experience tastes from many backgrounds. The Community Stage will feature performers during the day. Likewise, the Canopy Stage will continue into the evening.
Evening Entertainment and Fireworks
As the sun sets, the festival atmosphere will shift. However, the energy will continue well into the night. Stay for dinner, live tunes and late rides. Meanwhile, food trucks will continue serving festival favourites. Finally, fireworks will conclude the event at 9.45pm. Accordingly, families can gather for a spectacular finale.
Getting to Knox Fest
There is no public parking at the event. Therefore, organisers strongly encourage walking, cycling or catching a free shuttle bus. Best pedestrian entry points include Burwood Highway and Brenock Park Drive. Additionally, bike parking is located near the Lyndale Court entry. Accessible parking operates via the Glenfern Road entrance. Importantly, do not park on nature strips or continuous white lines. Instead, follow all road rules and signage.
Free Shuttle Buses
Two free shuttle buses will operate from 11am on a regular loop. One service runs between Ferntree Gully Station and Brenock Park Drive. Similarly, the second runs from Upper Ferntree Gully Station via Kings Park. Passengers should note some buses may not have seatbelts. Furthermore, shuttles cannot transport electric wheelchairs or mobility scooters.
Road and Park Closures
From Wednesday the 25th of February, parts of Wally Tew Reserve will close. During this time, limited car park access will apply. From Friday the 27th of February to Sunday the 1st of March, the reserve will be fully closed. Consequently, expect road closures and traffic delays nearby.
What to Bring and Event Rules
Bring a refillable drinking bottle and use free water stations onsite. In addition, dress for the weather with hats, sunscreen and sunglasses. You may bring your own food. However, BYO alcohol, glass, balloons and large shade structures are prohibited. Dogs and pets are not permitted at the event, however assistance animals remain welcome of course.
Safety, Lost Children and Accessibility
Visit the Information Tent for a free child wristband upon arrival, then write your phone number clearly for safety. If you find a lost child, take them to the Information Tent. Alternatively, speak to the nearest events team member. Staff will assist families quickly and calmly. Moreover, the event supports patrons of all abilities. Accessible parking, sealed paths and a Changing Places facility are available. In addition, a “Chill Out Space” will provide a quiet retreat.
