Colliewobbles Hosts 12th Annual Christmas Dog Event

Community Group Marks 12th Christmas Celebration

Colliewobbles will host its 12th Christmas event at Nortons Park in Wantirna South on the 6th of December 2025. The celebration will run between 10am and 3pm. Established in 2014, the organisation is a breed-specific walking community for Rough Collies, Smooth Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs. Since then, the group has grown, and walking teams now operate in Shepparton and the Surf Coast. Additionally, Colliewobbles has inspired similar dog walking groups across Victoria, South Australia and Western Australia.

Rescue and Rehoming Work Continues to Expand

Colliewobbles Rescue & Rehoming Australia Inc (CRRA), launched in 2018 as a registered charity. It was formed in response to the rising number of Collies and Shetland Sheepdogs needing support. CRRA now partners with the RSPCA nationwide and holds multiple agreements with councils across Victoria. Dogs entering CRRA care arrive as rescues or assisted rehoming cases. Their circumstances differ, yet their needs remain significant. However, surrender numbers often increase as Christmas approaches.

Annual Fundraiser Returns to Support Vital Care

The social walking group will again host its annual Christmas fundraiser at Nortons Park on the 6th of December. This event aims to raise essential funds for dogs entering CRRA care. It offers a full day of community fun with a BBQ, raffles, a live auction, games and a quiz. There will also be time to enjoy relaxed walks through the park.

Invitation to Collie Owners Across the Region

Organisers encourage anyone with a Rough Collie, Smooth Collie or Shetland Sheepdog to join the celebrations. The event offers a chance to meet friendly dog owners and enjoy time with like-minded people. For more information, visit www.crra.net.au or find Colliewobbles on Facebook.
