Crash on Liverpool Road
Police are investigating after a serious car crash in Kilsyth South today, Saturday the 27th of September. The crash happened on Liverpool Road just before 3.20pm. The driver of a blue Nissan sedan travelling north between Scenic Rd and Glascow Road lost control and impacted a tree. Initial reports indicate the car caught fire. While this is yet to be confirmed, 5 units from FRV and CFA stations did attend.
Driver Airlifted To Hospital
The male driver, believed to be in his 40s, was airlifted to the Royal Melbourne Hospital for treatment. There are conflicting reports regarding his exact condition.
Emergency Response
Ambulance Victoria confirmed paramedics were called to the scene around 3.25pm.
Crews included an Air Ambulance helicopter, a Mobile Intensive Care Ambulance, and Advanced Life Support paramedics.
Police Investigation Underway
Yarra Ranges Highway Patrol officers are investigating the circumstances of the crash.
