Early Morning Crash Wakes Scoresby Residents
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Zerfas Street and Cavell Street in Scoresby just after 3:15 a.m. on Sunday the 12th of October, following reports of a car crashing into a home.
The driver of a Toyota RAV4, travelling down Cavell Street, failed to negotiate the T intersection, left the road, and ploughed through a front fence before colliding with the corner of a brick veneer residence.
Paramedics accessed the male driver at the scene. No occupants of the house were harmed, but the fence and front façade of the property suffered extensive damage.
Another in a String of Knox Crashes
This latest crash adds to a troubling pattern of single-vehicle crashes across the Knox municipality. In recent months, several similar incidents have made headlines, each raising questions about driver awareness, competency and suburban road safety.

Earlier this year, two people were killed in a double fatality on Coleman Road, after a vehicle left the road and struck multiple pedestrians.

On the same road, a vehicle ploughed through the front of a convenience store, destroying the shopfront. Miraculously no one was injured.

In addition, a Food Max storefront was damaged at the Studfield shops less than a fortnight ago. The driver mounted the curb after losing control, damaging the shopfront. Visit Knox News on facebook for a full report.

Each of these incidents highlights the ongoing risks on Knox’s suburban streets, especially during nighttime or low-visibility hours. Residents are very concerned with the safety of Knox pedestrians’ and the increasing numbers on single vehicle accidents of this nature.
