False Fire Alarm – Saturday, 2 August 2025
FRV crews from Boronia and Vermont were called to Westfield Knox today shortly after 1:30 PM following a report of a building fire in the Village Cinema lobby.
Four emergency vehicles responded to the call out. The incident was determined to be a false alarm shortly after arrival. There were no evacuations or disruptions to businesses or customers as a result of the alarm.
Minor Gas Leak – Tuesday, 29 July 2025
At approximately 6:45 PM on Tuesday evening, Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) responded to reports of a gas leak at Westfield Knox. Three firefighting units attended the scene.
Upon arrival, firefighters quickly identified the source of the problem — a pipe within a retailer’s premises. The incident was assessed as a minor gas leak and was swiftly contained. The area was declared safe within minutes, with no injuries or disruptions reported.
