Collision on Burwood Highway
Emergency services were called to the intersection of Burwood Highway and Dobson Street at around 7:15 this evening after reports of a two-car crash. According to witnesses, a Ford Ute travelling east towards Ferntree Gully allegedly attempted to turn right into Dobson Street, failing to give way to an oncoming Holden Rodeo. The Holden, heading west towards Westfield Knox, struck the Ford on the passenger side. The impact left the Ute heavily damaged, while the Rodeo sustained only minor front-end damage.
Lucky Escape
Despite the force of the collision, no injuries were reported. Paramedics assessed those involved, and all declined transport to hospital.
Both drivers remained at the scene and assisted Victoria Police with their enquiries.
Traffic Delays
The crash caused temporary lane closures along Burwood Highway, as crews cleared debris and inspected the vehicles for fluid leaks.
Traffic was back to normal within the hour.
Community Reminder
