Gun Scare on McRae Street Dandenong Ends in Arrest

Police Rush to McRae Street Scene

Detectives from Victoria Police charged a man after a gun scare in Dandenong this afternoon, Tuesday the 21st of April.

Police received reports of a man with a firearm on McRae Street about 11am.
Soon after, officers arrived and quickly secured the scene.

Arrest Made and Weapon Located

Officers arrested a 30-year-old man without incident at the scene.
They then searched him and allegedly found an imitation firearm.

As a result, detectives charged the man with possessing an imitation firearm as a prohibited person. The arrested man is of no fixed address.

Patrols Increase to Reassure Community

The man was bailed and will appear at court at a later date.
Meanwhile, police increased patrols across the area to provide the community with reassurance. These patrols aim to support safety and calm community concerns.
