Emergency Services Contain Garage Fire in Wantirna South
Emergency services were called to Panorama Drive, Wantirna South at 11:45 AM this morning after a garage fire broke out in a residential home.
Responders from both Fire Rescue Victoria (FRV) and the Country Fire Authority (CFA) quickly arrived on scene and successfully contained the fire before it could spread to the rest of the property. The fire was caused by a box of BBQ charcoal that had been used the day before and stored near the family’s car in the garage. Though believed to be completely cooled and safe to store, the charcoal reignited, sparking the fire.
Property Damage Minimal, No Injuries Reported
Fortunately, no one was injured in the incident. The only damage reported was minor scorching to the rear passenger door of the homeowner’s prized SS Commodore. The situation could have been much worse, possibly resulting in a house fire, but thanks to the rapid response from FRV and CFA teams, the fire was quickly brought under control.
