Man Released Pending Further Enquiries
Homicide Squad detectives have released a 39-year-old Bayswater man pending further enquiries. Police arrested the man near Mountain Highway about 11.40am on the 16th of February 2026. Earlier, officers responded to a property on Mountain Highway, near Dorset Road. There, they located a 44-year-old Bayswater woman deceased just after 11am.
Detectives then interviewed the man later that day. However, they have subsequently released him. The investigation continues. At this stage, police have not laid any charges. Investigators believe the man and the woman were known to each other.
Detectives Examine Scene
Immediately after locating the woman, officers established a crime scene. Forensics and detectives examined the property throughout the afternoon.
Meanwhile, police maintained a presence at the address into the evening. As enquiries progressed, investigators gathered evidence and spoke with potential witnesses.
