Recognising Knox’s Everyday Heroes
Nominations have officially opened for the 2026 Knox Community Awards, giving residents the chance to recognise local volunteers. Knox, more than 17,000 volunteers support community groups, services, and organisations each year. As a result, over 13 per cent of residents actively give their time to help others. These awards shine a light on those efforts and celebrate people who strengthen local connections.
Celebrating Service Across the Community
The awards recognise individuals, groups, and organisations that make a lasting contribution to Knox. Importantly, nominations are open across three categories, ensuring all forms of service receive recognition.
Those categories include:
- Knox Volunteer of the Year
- Knox Community Organisation of the Year
- Recognition of Years of Service
Together, these categories highlight both long-term commitment and everyday community impact.
How to Nominate
Residents can submit nominations online through Knox Council’s website. However, nominations must be lodged before midnight on Sunday 15 March. Therefore, community members are encouraged to act early and acknowledge those who make a difference.
