Residents Invited to Shape Knox’s Green Future
Knox Council is calling on residents to help shape the future of the municipality’s parks, reserves and open spaces.
As Knox continues to grow, the council wants community feedback to guide its long-term Open Space Strategy. The strategy will influence how public spaces are planned, maintained and improved over future years.
Community Feedback Now Open
Council says Knox’s parks, bushland, waterways, playgrounds, trails and urban spaces remain central to community life. However, a growing population and increasing housing density will place greater demand on those areas.
Therefore, the strategy aims to balance recreation, environmental protection and community needs.
Additionally, residents can share what matters most about the open spaces they regularly use. Feedback will help council identify priorities for future investment and planning.
How Residents Can Have Their Say
Residents can complete an online survey through Knox Council’s Have Your Say platform.
Alternatively, community members can speak directly with council staff during upcoming pop-up consultation sessions.

Meanwhile, the online survey remains available throughout the consultation period.
Why Your Feedback Matters
Open spaces provide places for exercise, relaxation, recreation and community connection. Moreover, they support local biodiversity and improve neighbourhood liveability.
Because Knox continues to evolve, community input will help council understand which spaces residents value most and where improvements should occur.
In addition, the consultation will assist council in making informed decisions about caring for existing parks while planning future green spaces.
Feedback Closes in August
Residents have until 16 August 2026 to participate in the consultation.
Finally, Knox Council encourages everyone who lives, works or spends time in Knox to share their views before the survey closes.
