Forest Emergency
At approximately 5:45 PM this Wednesday, 6th August, Victoria Police successfully rescued a man who had found himself in difficulty in an area known as the Kokoda Track Memorial Walk in Tremont. The walk falls within the Dandenong Ranges National Park.
Rescue Performed by Victoria Police
The rescue operation involved six police units, including the Highway Patrol and the Victorian Police Air Wing.
The man, who was unable to find his way back to his vehicle after venturing into the wooded area, was located through coordinated efforts in the air and on the ground.
The Police Air Wing played a crucial role in the rescue mission, providing overhead assistance. It took officers a little over an hour to successfully locate the man. He was found unable to walk and was assisted out of the bushland and transported by police vehicle to an accessible location.
Ambulance Victoria Attends to Transport to Hospital
Ambulance Victoria personnel were on the scene waiting to receive the individual from the police. Officers helped transfer the man from the police vehicle to the ambulance, where he was then transported to hospital for further evaluation.
