Crash on Clow Avenue – Upper Ferntree Gully
Emergency services rushed to Clow Avenue in Upper Ferntree Gully shortly after 8:30pm last night. The driver of a Toyota Landcruiser had lost control of his vehicle and struck a tree on the median strip.
After clipping the tree, the vehicle plowed through two front yard fences. It finally came to rest against a neighboring house.
Residents reported hearing a loud bang and described the scene as shocking. The resulting damage from the accident was visible across several properties.
Ongoing Investigation
The bend in Clow Avenue where the driver had lost control is not particularly sharp. Speed humps have been installed to ensure drivers negotiate this section of the road appropriately.
Investigators are now examining how the driver lost control despite the traffic control measures.

Driver Taken to Hospital
Paramedics treated the driver at the scene before transporting him to hospital shortly after 9pm. His condition is considered stable and not life-threatening.
