Nominations now open across Victoria
Victorians can now nominate outstanding school crossing supervisors for the 2025/2026 Supervisor of the Year awards. Nominations opened on 27 January 2026 and will close on 30 April 2026. The awards recognise supervisors who protect children and support safer school travel each day.
Recognising local safety champions
School Crossing Victoria established the awards in 2010 to honour dedication and service. Supervisors play a vital role in managing traffic and guiding students safely across busy roads. Moreover, many build strong relationships with families and school communities over many years. The awards highlight those who show professionalism, reliability and strong road safety knowledge.
Who can nominate a supervisor
Community members can nominate a deserving supervisor through the official website. Parents, residents, teachers and students can all take part in the process. Importantly, nominations can include both permanent and relief supervisors. This ensures every contribution has a chance to be recognised.
How the awards are decided
Victoria is divided into seven regions for judging. Each region selects one winner, who then progresses to the state judging stage. An independent panel reviews nominations and selects the overall state winner. Winners will be announced at an awards event on 10 July 2026.
Strong local presence in Knox
Knox has a strong network of school crossing supervisors supporting local families each day. Around 110 supervisors operate across more than 100 crossings in the municipality. As a result, many local residents have regular contact with their community crossing supervisors. Residents are encouraged to nominate those who go above and beyond.
Why these awards matter
School crossing supervisors are often the first friendly face students see each morning. They help create safer streets while also building trust within the community. Therefore, the awards provide an important opportunity to recognise their daily impact. Nominations remain open until the end of April.
