Emergency services are currently responding to a serious collision on Coleman Parade in Wantirna South near Bindi Street, where it is believed two pedestrians were struck by a vehicle before it crashed further down the road.
The incident occurred around midday on 10 July. At least six ambulances, seven police vehicles, fire crews, and SES units are on site. Witnesses say both pedestrians were walking on the footpath when they were hit. One of the victims is receiving ongoing CPR more than ten minutes after the incident, while the second person is also being treated at the scene by paramedics.
The driver, believed to be an elderly woman, continued driving for around 300 metres before crashing the vehicle into a nearby park. Paramedics are treating the woman for minor injuries.
Victoria Police confirmed that the collision is not believed to be intentional and that the exact circumstances are still being determined. “Emergency services are currently at the scene of a collision on Coleman Road in Wantirna South. It is understood multiple pedestrians have been struck by a single vehicle,” a police spokesperson said. “The incident is not believed to be intentional. The conditions of the patients are still being assessed.”
