Ram Raid Rampage Shocks Wantirna South
A violent ram raid rampage smashed into a Wantirna South pharmacy early Saturday morning. The incident unfolded on 28 March, sending shockwaves through the local community. Emergency services attended the damaged Stud Road site shortly after the early morning attack.
Ute Used To Smash Entry
Police believe a white Nissan utility reversed into the pharmacy multiple times.
The vehicle struck the storefront about 4:50am, causing extensive structural damage. As a result, the offenders forced entry and moved quickly through the business.
Offenders Flee Before Police Arrival
However, the offenders fled the scene before police arrived.
At this stage, investigators have not confirmed what items were stolen. Meanwhile, detectives continue to assess the damage and gather forensic evidence.
Serious Penalties for Ram Raid Offences
Importantly, ram raid offences carry significant penalties under Victorian law.
Aggravated burglary and related crimes can result in sentences of up to 25 years imprisonment. Therefore, police are treating this incident with high priority as investigations continue.
