Rider Crashes into Railing
A motorcyclist is fighting for life after a serious crash in Ferntree Gully this morning, Monday the 1st of June.
Emergency services rushed to Lysterfield Road about 9.20am after reports a rider had crashed before tumbling down an embankment.

Investigators believe the rider was travelling south along Lysterfield Road when he lost control and struck roadside railing.
The motorcycle then rolled down a nearby embankment, leaving the rider with critical injuries.
Paramedics treated the 32-year-old Narre Warren man at the scene before transporting him to hospital.
Authorities confirmed the rider suffered life-threatening injuries.
Highway Patrol Officers Nearby
At the time of the collision, Highway Patrol officers were stationary in their vehicle on Lysterfield Road, south of the crash scene.
As a result of this fact, the investigation into the incident will be overseen by Professional Standards Command.
Police are now working to determine the exact circumstances surrounding the crash.

Investigators are expected to examine the scene, vehicle damage and surrounding road conditions. Meanwhile, anyone who witnessed the incident, or has dashcam footage, is urged to contact police.
