Motorcyclist Dies After Sunday Crash
A 53-year-old Wantirna South man has died after a motorcycle crash on Coleman Road on Sunday afternoon.
Emergency services responded about 5pm after reports a motorcycle had crashed near a traffic island.
Investigators believe the rider struck the traffic island before coming off the motorcycle.
Paramedics transported the man to hospital in a critical condition. However, he later died from his injuries.
Witnesses Describe Moments Before Crash
Witnesses told Knox News the rider was travelling alongside his son before the collision.
Police have not confirmed those witness accounts.
The crash occurred outside the Wantirna South Community Centre beside Lewis Park.
Investigation Continues
Major investigators continue examining the circumstances surrounding the fatal collision.
A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident to come forward.
Investigators also want dashcam or CCTV footage that may assist their enquiries.
