Police Swarm Wheelers Hill Site
Police descended on a building site near the corner of Ferntree Gully Road and Jells Road last night, right beside The Rogue Squire in Wheelers Hill. The strong police presence quickly drew the attention of passing motorists and nearby diners.
Copper Theft Under the Cover of Night
It is understood an offender arrived in a vehicle at the building under construction around 7:30pm. According to reports, the suspect stole copper from the site and loaded it into the vehicle before fleeing on foot.
Officers Seize Vehicle, Hunt Continues
Although the vehicle was seized at the scene, no arrests have been made. Considering the heavy police activity on Ferntree Gully Road and nearby in The Deviation, this rogue was lucky to escape.
