Double Trouble
Knox Highway Patrol officers detected two speeding drivers in the Rowville area on Wellington Road, on Sunday 3rd August. Both drivers were significantly exceeding the 70 km/h speed limit.
The first offender was detected travelling at 110 km/h in the 70 km/h zone. The 24 Yr old received an infringement notice and a fine for $763. The driver will also have their license suspended for 6 months.
The second offender, a 20 Yr old was also detected on the same night breaking the 70 km/h speed limit. After being detected travelling at 99 km/h, the driver received a penalty notice and was fined $560. Their drivers’ license was also suspended for 3 months.
Both drivers were issued with on-the-spot penalty notices in accordance with State laws. Victoria Police continue to target excessive speed in high-risk corridors like Wellington Road.
