Police Investigate Vermont South Bus Stop Stabbing
Detectives from the Transit Crime Investigation Unit are appealing for public help after a stabbing in Vermont South this week. Police have been told a 37-year-old man was approached while waiting at a Springvale Road bus stop. The man was stabbed to the upper body with an edged weapon during the incident about 4pm on 15 September. He was conveyed to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries, where he continues to recover under medical supervision.
The Offenders
The offender fled on foot west along Burwood Highway with another male and has not yet been located. One offender is described as Caucasian, about 186cm tall, aged in his 20s, wearing a dark hooded top and pants. The second male is described as Caucasian, aged in his 30s, with brown hair, wearing a black singlet and shorts.
Police believe those involved are not known to each other. Investigators have released CCTV and a facial composite image in the hope someone may recognise the males.
