Fire Erupts in the Early Morning Hours
Emergency services rushed to Lincoln Avenue in Glen Waverley shortly before five o’clock this morning after several calls to Triple Zero (000) reported a house fire.
Fire Rescue Victoria crews arrived at 4:54am and found the single-storey weatherboard home already engulfed in flames. The older house, believed to contain asbestos materials, was completely destroyed.
Firefighters Respond Swiftly and Contain the Blaze
Thirty firefighters worked together to battle the intense flames and prevent the fire from spreading to neighbouring properties. Their rapid, coordinated response brought the blaze under control by 5:35am. Fortunately, no one was home at the time, and no injuries were reported.

Authorities have deemed the fire suspicious. A council building surveyor will assess the site to determine the extent of the damage. Investigators continue to examine the cause as part of an ongoing inquiry.
