A 16-year-old boy has been arrested following an alleged series of robberies in Wantirna South last night, with police locating the teenager hiding inside a nearby business.
Knox and Boronia police were called to High Street at about 9.40pm following reports that a male had allegedly pushed victims against a wall and demanded their belongings.
Police allege the incidents occurred on three successive occasions. Items including AirPods were allegedly stolen during the incidents. There were no reported injuries.
The teenager was allegedly accompanied by a friend, who repeatedly encouraged him to stop, according to police. Officers quickly attended the area and located a 16-year-old boy allegedly hiding inside a nearby business.
The teenager was arrested, with police also seizing a small quantity of cannabis. Police allege the teenager spat at officers shortly after his arrest.
He is expected to be interviewed by investigators as inquiries into the alleged robberies continue. The investigation remains ongoing.
