Teen Stabbed During Violent Wantirna Reserve Robbery
A violent robbery in Wantirna reserve has left a teenager in hospital after an alleged stabbing attack.
Police say two offenders targeted the 17-year-old before stealing his e-bike and mobile phone on Saturday evening.
Teen Targeted at Wantirna Reserve
Investigators believe the incident occurred at JW Manson Reserve on Selkirk Avenue about 6.15pm on the 20th of June.
According to police, two unknown males approached the teenager inside the reserve.
The offenders allegedly demanded the victim’s e-bike and phone however the confrontation quickly escalated into violence.
Police allege the pair stabbed the teenager multiple times during the robbery.
Offenders Flee with Stolen Property
After the attack, the offenders allegedly fled the reserve with the stolen items.
They left the area in an unknown direction.
Meanwhile, emergency services responded to the scene and treated the injured teenager.
Despite suffering multiple stab wounds, the 17-year-old’s condition is described as non-life-threatening.
Paramedics then transported him to hospital for further treatment.
Crime Scene Established as Investigation Continues
Police established a crime scene at the reserve shortly after the attack and conducted a line search of the surrounding reserve. A significant number of articles were taken into evidence.
Detectives are now investigating the circumstances surrounding the violent robbery.
Furthermore, investigators are working to identify and locate the two offenders.
