Teen Boys Injured after Freeway Convoy Crash
Police are investigating a serious multi-vehicle collision in Mount Waverley this afternoon. Investigators believe a grey Honda Accord travelled erratically inbound on the Monash Freeway. The incident unfolded near the Huntingdale off-ramp at about 2.35pm.
According to police, the Honda crossed the median strip before slamming into two stationary outbound vehicles. The car then rolled and landed on its roof.
Two Teenagers Hospitalised after Violent Rollover
Emergency crews treated two boys at the scene following the crash. Police said a 17-year-old from Bayside and another 17-year-old from Manningham suffered serious injuries. Paramedics transported both teenagers to hospital for treatment. Furthermore, officers placed the pair under police guard as investigations continued.
Police Allege Convoy involved Stolen Vehicles
Investigators were also told the Honda travelled in convoy with a grey Hyundai hatchback. Police arrested the Hyundai driver, a 14-year-old Bayside boy, at the scene. Meanwhile, detectives confirmed the Honda was allegedly stolen from Cranbourne on 5 May. They also alleged the Hyundai was stolen from Noble Park North on 4 May.

Fortunately, the occupants inside the two struck vehicles escaped injury. While police continue to examine the circumstances surrounding the crash, investigators are now appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage.
