Teens Charged After Belgrave Machete Attack
Two teenage boys have been charged after a man was struck with a machete in Belgrave earlier this week. Police say a man and woman were confronted by a group of males on Blacksmiths Way about 7.10pm on Wednesday the 29th of October. One of the youths in the group allegedly struck a 27-year-old Ferntree Gully man with a machete before fleeing the scene in a white BMW sedan. The victim was taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
Vehicle Linked to Fuel Theft
Detectives allege the same vehicle was involved in a fuel theft at a Ballan service station earlier that day.
Following investigations, a 15-year-old and a 13-year-old, both from the Moorabool area, were arrested and charged with intentionally cause injury, recklessly causing injury, assault with a weapon and theft of a motor vehicle.
Ongoing Investigation
Both teens were remanded to appear before a children’s court. Police are continuing to identify a third alleged offender.
