Car Fire Erupts in Wantirna South Park
Emergency services were called to R.D. Egan Lee Reserve, off Wallace Road, just after 2am this morning following reports of a vehicle fire. When crews arrived, they found a 2016 Toyota utility on the grass at the rear of the car park. The vehicle was well and truly alight. Firefighters worked quickly to extinguish the blaze, preventing it from spreading further into the surrounding reserve.
Police Investigate Suspicious Circumstances
Police conducted an extensive search of the area, scouring the park’s pathways, nearby roads, and surrounding bushes for evidence or possible suspects.
Members of Fire Rescue Victoria’s Fire Investigation Unit attended the scene.
The circumstances surrounding the incident appear to be suspicious. As yet, the exact cause of the fire has yet to be determined and investigations remain ongoing.
