Confrontation Turns Violent on Blacksmiths Way
Detectives have arrested two teenagers after a violent machete attack in Belgrave earlier this week. According to police, a man and a woman were confronted by a group of males on Blacksmiths Way about 7:10pm on Wednesday the 29th of October. During the confrontation, one male allegedly struck the 27-year-old Ferntree Gully man with a machete. The group then fled the scene in a stolen white BMW sedan. The injured man was treated at the scene before being transported to hospital. Thankfully, his injuries were non-life-threatening.
Stolen Car Linked to Earlier Petrol Theft
Detectives allege the same BMW was used earlier that day to steal petrol from a service station on the Western Freeway in Ballan.
This connection helped investigators track down two of the alleged offenders.
Two Teens Now in Custody
A 15-year-old and a 13-year-old, both from the Moorabool area, were arrested earlier today. Police confirmed both boys will be interviewed by detectives. Investigators are still working to identify a third male believed to be involved in the attack.
