Two Trucks Collide on Monash Freeway

Terrible Traffic After Two Trucks Collide on Monash

Emergency services rushed to the Monash Freeway near the Ferntree Gully Road on-ramp shortly before 3pm today. Two trucks collided in the inbound lanes, triggering major congestion across Melbourne’s south-east. One truck rolled onto its side and came to rest on an embankment beside the freeway.

Emergency Response and Injuries

Victoria Police, Fire Rescue Victoria, and Ambulance Victoria attended within minutes. Paramedics treated one driver at the scene before transporting him to hospital. His condition remains unclear.

Severe Traffic Delays

Traffic delays quickly extended for more than 11 kilometres as lane closures restricted vehicle flow. The Ferntree Gully Road on-ramp closed while crews managed the incident. Motorists face long delays during the afternoon peak period. Drivers are urged to take alternative routes and allow extra travel time.

Investigation Underway

Police will investigate the cause of the collision. Authorities will release further updates once recovery operations conclude and lanes reopen. Motorists should continue monitoring traffic alerts for the latest conditions.
