Police are investigating an attempted vehicle theft in Upper Ferntree Gully after a man allegedly targeted a Chrysler 300C.

The incident occurred on Tuesday the 17th of February, however detectives continue seeking information from the public.

Chrysler Would Not Start

Investigators believe an unknown man attempted to steal a Chrysler 300C.

However, the engine failed to start despite several attempts.

As a result, the man abandoned the vehicle before leaving the area on foot.

Police believe he then walked towards Burwood Highway.

Detectives Release Image

Investigators have released an image of a man who may assist with their enquiries.

Police urge anyone who recognises the man to come forward.

Additionally, detectives are asking anyone with relevant information to make contact.
