Violent Service Station Theft Investigated.
Police are investigating a theft and assault that left a service station worker injured in Wantirna earlier this year.
Investigators believe several offenders attended a service station on Boronia Road about 8.30am on the 3rd of March 2026.
According to police, the group allegedly stole several items from the store. Among the items taken was the shop attendant’s personal mobile phone.
Worker Assaulted While Recovering Stolen Phone
The incident then escalated when the attendant attempted to recover their stolen phone.
Police allege the worker was physically assaulted during the confrontation.
As a result, the victim suffered significant injuries. These included a broken nose, swelling to the head, and cuts and grazes to the arms and back.
Emergency services attended the scene and assessed the injured worker.
Police Release Image During Investigation
Meanwhile, detectives continue to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
To assist the investigation, police have released an image of a person they believe may be able to help with enquiries.
Investigators are now appealing for information from the public.
Furthermore, detectives are keen to speak with anyone who witnessed the incident. They also seek CCTV or dashcam footage from the area.
