Rare War Medals Taken During Buchan Court Break-In
Knox Crime Investigation Unit detectives are appealing for community assistance after a burglary in Wantirna South. Although enquiries continue, detectives believe extra information could strengthen the investigation. The break-in occurred between 3pm on 5 November and 7pm on 6 November. No one was home during this period, which allowed the offender to search freely.
Order of Australia and Tobruk Rats Medals Missing
Several items were stolen; however, two medals hold exceptional significance. The Order of Australia medal is missing. The Tobruk Rats medal, awarded in 1941, is also gone. Only 20 of these rare medals were produced. Therefore, detectives believe someone may recognise them quickly. The medals are distinctive, so their appearance online or in conversation could offer vital clues.
