Community Cricket Funding Applications Now Open
Community sporting organisations can now apply for funding through the Australian Cricket Infrastructure Fund (ACIF). Cricket Australia created the program to improve grassroots cricket facilities across the country. Consequently, clubs and communities can upgrade key infrastructure and grow participation. Eligible organisations include cricket clubs, associations, schools, local councils and facility managers. These groups maintain many of Australia’s community cricket venues. The program supports projects that improve accessibility, safety and participation in local cricket environments.
Grants Support Upgrades to Local Cricket Facilities
The ACIF provides funding for a wide range of infrastructure improvements. For example, projects may include new cricket nets, upgraded pitches, improved lighting and pavilion upgrades. In addition, funding may support modern change rooms and accessibility improvements. These upgrades help clubs provide safer and more inclusive environments for players, volunteers and supporters. Across Australia, the fund contributes millions of dollars toward grassroots infrastructure each year. Furthermore, partnerships with governments and councils often expand the total investment significantly.
Two Funding Categories Available for Applicants
The fund offers two main grant categories for community projects. Minor Infrastructure Grants generally range from $1,000 to $15,000. These grants often support smaller facility improvements. Major Infrastructure Grants range from $15,001 to $40,000. Larger strategic projects may receive additional support when they deliver regional benefits. Therefore, the program allows both small clubs and larger community facilities to access meaningful funding.
Application Deadline Approaching
Applications for the current funding round close at 5pm on Friday the 27th of March. Interested organisations should review the guidelines and prepare their submissions as soon as possible. Early preparation improves the chances of securing funding for facility upgrades.
