Emergency Crews Respond Swiftly
Fire crews were called to Linda Crescent in Ferntree Gully around 11am, Monday the 29th of December after smoke was seen coming from an electrical switchboard.
The house was unoccupied at the time. Thankfully, a passer-by noticed the smoke and immediately phoned Triple Zero.
Rapid Response Prevents Damage
Local FRV and CFA crews arrived quickly. Meanwhile, power was cut to the property as a precaution. As a result, further damage to the home was avoided. Importantly, firefighters confirmed the situation was made safe within minutes.
A Timely Reminder for Residents
Fortunately, the incident ended as a lucky escape. However, it also serves as a strong reminder to always call 000 if something doesn’t look right. Even small signs, such as smoke or unusual smells, should never be ignored.
