Immerse Returns to Transform Knox
Immerse is back, and it is once again turning Knox into an open-air gallery.
The month-long arts festival runs from Friday 26 June until Sunday 26 July. During that time, residents can discover creativity in parks, streets, public spaces and unexpected locations across the municipality.
Since launching in 2015, Immerse has grown into one of Knox’s signature cultural events. Moreover, it continues to make art accessible by taking it beyond traditional galleries and directly into the community.
Art in Unexpected Places
Rather than asking people to visit a gallery, Immerse brings art into everyday life.
Visitors can experience interactive installations, projections, exhibitions, performances and creative pop-up activations. Consequently, every visit offers something different.
This year’s festival features more than 20 free experiences spread across Knox.
Artists will transform laneways, parks, shopping precincts and community spaces into creative destinations. Therefore, families, art lovers and curious visitors can explore at their own pace.
Celebrating First Nations Culture
NAIDOC Week forms an important part of the 2026 program.
Council will showcase contemporary First Nations artists through the Gilbert Park Billboard and Light Box Galleries across Knox. Their works explore Country, culture and connection while celebrating Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander voices.
As a result, visitors can experience Indigenous storytelling alongside the festival’s broader arts program.
Something for Every Age
Immerse welcomes people of all ages and interests.
Some installations remain throughout the festival. Meanwhile, performances and pop-up events appear on selected days. Additionally, several activities require bookings, while many experiences remain free to attend.
The festival also coincides with Victorian school holidays, giving families extra opportunities to explore Knox together.

Immerse continues to encourage residents to see familiar places differently.
Instead of simply passing through public spaces, visitors can pause, interact and discover creative works throughout the municipality.
