Community Backed Upgrade Starts Tomorrow
Knox Skate and BMX Park is set for its biggest upgrade yet, with construction officially starting on the 1st of December. Local skaters and riders have waited years for this moment, and the expansion will deliver new features shaped by strong community feedback. Knox Council confirmed that specialist builders Convic Skateparks will lead the works. The announcement has generated huge excitement across the skate community, especially since the project will lift the park into a more modern and inclusive space.
What the Extension Will Deliver
The upgrade will include beginner-friendly elements that help young riders develop skills. It also adds new street and transition obstacles that create more variety for all levels. Additionally, the project improves comfort around the park. Shaded seating, upgraded lighting and a new picnic shelter will support families and riders. Improved pathways will also make moving around far easier, especially during busy periods.
Construction Timeline and Access
Works begin in December 2025 and should finish by March 2026. The skate and BMX park will stay open during construction. However, safety fencing will be in place to reduce disruptions and keep riders safe.
