Woman Targeted at 7-11 Service Station
Police are investigating a brazen carjacking in Wantirna South today, the 23rd of April.
The incident occurred at a 7-11 service station on Burwood Highway just before 3pm. A 62-year-old woman was in her vehicle when an unknown male approached her. However, the situation escalated within moments.
Victim Dragged from Vehicle
Investigators say the offender dragged the woman from her car.
As a result, she sustained minor injuries during the attack. She declined medical treatment at the scene. Nevertheless, the violent nature of the incident has raised concerns.
Offender Flees in Stolen Toyota RAV4
The offender fled in the woman’s Toyota RAV4 shortly after the attack.
Police have confirmed the man remains outstanding. Meanwhile, detectives are reviewing CCTV and dashcam footage.
They are also working to establish the offender’s movements.
