Pedestrian Struck on Busy Mount Waverley Road
A man has died after a collision in Mount Waverley last night, Thursday the 23rd of April. The incident occurred on Stephensons Road near Griffiths Court about 9.20pm. According to police, a vehicle was travelling along Stephensons Road between Birdie Street and Griffiths Court when they tragically struck the male pedestrian.
Emergency Crews Unable to Save Man
Emergency services responded quickly to the scene. Despite the best efforts of paramedics, the man unfortunately died at the scene. Authorities have not yet formally identified the deceased. The driver and passenger of the vehicle stopped and spoke with officers. Neither occupants of the vehicle suffered injuries in the incident.
Investigation Underway into Fatal Crash
Nunawading Highway Patrol officers are now investigating the circumstances however the exact cause of the collision remains unclear. Investigators will examine road conditions and also review any available CCTV or dashcam footage if available.
