Appeal Issued Over Distinctive Vehicle Theft
Police have issued a public appeal after a distinctive Subaru WRX STI was stolen in The Basin.
Investigators say the rare 2015 Subaru WRX STI was taken from a residential address on the 12th of February 2026. The vehicle displayed registration plates CLY768 at the time of the theft.
Officers believe the car’s unique profile may make it noticeable to residents across Melbourne’s eastern suburbs. As a result, they are urging the community to remain alert and report any sightings.

Police continue inquiries into the circumstances surrounding the theft. Meanwhile, they are asking anyone with information to come forward.
